My Major & Career Goals:
My Major: Pre-Nursing
As a pre-nursing major I will gain knowledge I will later need to know as I become a Registered Nurse. The pre-nursing program will show me what skills I need to learn so I am able to use it later on with my future patients. For example, taking blood pressure, being able to give shots, and taking people's blood. My major requires me to take pre-requisite classes in order for me to apply to the School of Nursing. I chose this major because I want to make a change in the medical field. I want to be a nurse that my patients feel comfortable enough for me to take care of them.
Current Career Goals:
-
Go back to college and get a master's degree to one day become a Nurse practitioner. I would love to further my knowledge and be more involved with my patients.
-
Gain more interpersonal skills so I am able to communicate well with my future patients. I want to make sure I am effectively communicating with my patients and being able to meet their needs.
-
Build efficiency so I am able to manage all tasks at once and not fall behind. Have a flow so I am able to do control my time and not take long on certain tasks.
-
Making sure I am also taking care of myself, so I am able to better take care of my patients. If I am not doing good myself what makes me think I will be able to care for a patient.
